Groton City Democratic Committee to nominate candidates

Groton — The Groton City Democratic Committee will meet at 7 p.m. on Jan. 16 at the Groton City Municipal Building to nominate and endorse candidates for City Mayor and City Council and conduct other business. The snow date is same time and place on Thursday, Jan. 17.

The meeting is open to anyone who is a registered Democrat in the City of Groton (Districts 2 & 3), but only members will be allowed to vote. Anyone unsure about whether they are registered as a Democrat can contact the Groton voter registration office.

The purpose of the City Democratic Committee is to help recruit and elect Democrats for City Council and recruit members for boards and commissions. The GCDC meets once a month at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month at the City Municipal Building. More information is available by calling chairwoman Marian Galbraith at (860) 460-8740.
