Musical Masterworks is welcoming more internationally acclaimed artists next month for concerts at First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, including the local debut of violist Ettore Causa.

Causa will be seen alongside Musical Masterworks veteran violinists Jesse Mills and Jennifer Frautschi, violist Nicholas Cords and cellist Wilhelmina Smith at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, for two masterpieces for string sextet: Arnold Schoenberg’s “Transfigured Night” and Johannes Brahms’s “G Major Sextet.”

The concert will begin with a duo for two cellos by the French Baroque-era composer Jean-Baptiste Barrière.

Artistic Director Edward Arron will give a pre-concert talk about the lives of these composers an hour before showtime.

Tickets are $40 for adults and $5 for students. For information, visit musicalmasterworks.org or call (860) 434-2252.
