Somers named 2019 Champion of Elder Care
Mystic — The Connecticut Association of Health Care Facilities / Connecticut Center for Assisted Living has presented Sen. Heather Somers, R-Groton, with its 2019 Champion for Elder Care Award.
Somers, who is a ranking member on the Public Health Committee in the Connecticut General Assembly, received the award at the CAHCF/CCAL annual meeting, held July 11 at Mystic Seaport.
Somers' office noted that the nonprofit association honored the senator for her "fierce, intelligent and outstanding leadership on behalf of Connecticut's skilled nursing facilities and assisted living communities, their employees and especially the residents they care for."
