New Hartford HealthCare facility opens in Pawcatuck

Stonington — Hartford HealthCare announced it has opened medical offices at 350 Liberty St. in Pawcatuck, offering primary care, pediatric and adolescent primary care and rehabilitation services for patients in southeastern Connecticut and western Rhode Island.

Physicians with offices in the 24,000-square-foot building include Dr. Amanda Conti, who offers primary care, pediatric and adolescent primary care; Dr. Hartmut Doerwaldt, who provides primary care; and physician assistant Kara Mignosa, family medicine. All three were previously with an office in North Stonington.

In addition, Dr. Edmund West will arrive at the Pawcatuck facility in September, offering internal medicine. He previously was with the Seaport Medical clinic in Mystic, which closed in April.

The rehabilitation services offered at the new facility include physical therapy; balance and falls; low back pain; work injury rehabilitation; sports medicine; and musculoskeletal injuries.

Readco, an Old Lyme developer, built the two-story office building on a 9-acre site formerly occupied by the Maple Breeze amusement park. Construction began in September of last year.

In May, Hartford HealthCare began construction of a 47,000-square-foot medical building off Interstate 95 and Coogan Boulevard in Mystic. It will house a number of specialty services, including neurology and cardiology along with full imaging services and primary care.
