500 Santas to descend on New London on Sunday
New London — More than 500 “Santas” are expected to run or walk through downtown New London Sunday as part of the Hartford Marathon Foundation's 2nd annual Run for a Claus 2.5-mile race.
The event will benefit Covenant Shelter of New London. The race starts and finishes on Bank Street, with a course that loops around Fort Trumbull State Park. Entry includes a complete Santa suit along with a post-race party. A half-mile Hartford Marathon Foundation FitKids run will take place for ages 2-11.
The kids half mile race starts at 10:30 a.m. and the 2.5-mile race starts at 11 a.m. outside Hot Rod's Cafe at 114 Bank St.
