Birthday outing at Harkness

Waterford — At least one family was taking advantage of the unseasonably warm weather to celebrate Christmas Eve — and their dog's eighth birthday — on Tuesday.
Grace Turner, 13, her mother, Rachelle, and sister Hannah, 16, all of Oakdale, went for a walk on the beach with the family's goldendoodle, Max, at Harkness Memorial State Park. "It's his birthday walk at his favorite place," Rachelle said. "We do this every Christmas Eve we can."
High temperatures are forecast to remain in the 40s throughout the week.
