Stonington — The crew of the fishing vessel Mackenzie Paige II unloaded its catch of squid Monday at the Town Dock in Stonington.
Capt. Gary Stone said the crew caught about 30,000 pounds of squid in three days of fishing on Hudson Canyon east of New Jersey. The canyon, named because it is an extension of the Hudson River valley, extends 400 nautical miles out to sea from New York Harbor.
The 59-foot vessel is named for the eldest of Stone's five children.
