New London — High school fencers met to compete in a quad meet Saturday at New London High School.

Fencing is not sanctioned by the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference, or CIAC, the state's governing body for high school sports, so teams compete as clubs.

Saturday's meet, between host New London, East Lyme, Griswold and the Marine Science Magnet High School was the final home meet of the season for the Whalers. Fencers competed in both foil and epee in both varsity and junior varsity levels.
