Mystic — A customer's French bulldog waits patiently for its human Tuesday outside Sift Bake Shop on Water Street in Mystic.

The bakery and cafe, owned by Food Network's "Best Baker in America" winner Adam Young, expanded last year and more plans are in the works.

Prior to opening Sift, Young was the head pastry chef at the Ocean House in the Watch Hill neighborhood of Westerly. Sift has a second location in Watch Hill.
