Groton — While Thursday and Friday were expected to be cold, if you've been hoping for warmer weather, you are in luck.

After Friday, temperatures are forecast to rise steadily, reaching the low 50s Monday, according to the Weather Center at Western Connecticut State University. Sun is in the forecast, too, with clear skies expected through Sunday.

Not that the cold has stopped people from going about their business. There were joggers Thursday on the University of Connecticut campus at Avery Point, and fishing boats were among the vessels passing by offshore.
