CT Coalition to End Homelessness announces charity workout challenge

The CT Coalition to End Homelessness has announced a new challenge for gyms, yoga studios and other fitness organizations to host virtual charity workouts to raise money for emergency assistance to house people in shelters.

The challenge was launched with support from Ranfone Training Systems of Hamden, which held a charity workout on Facebook to benefit CCEH. North Haven Crossfit will host a workout scheduled on its Facebook page at 9 a.m. Saturday.

“Now that we are all forced to stay home, it’s more important than ever to stay healthy and stay connected,” CCEH CEO Richard Cho said in a statement. “What a great opportunity to take care of yourself while also taking care of others.”

The coalition is aiming to rehouse 1,000 people by the end of next month.

Gyms and fitness organizations interested in participating can sign up at CCEH.org/CharityChallenge. CCEH will show charity workouts and other events benefiting its COVID-19 response fund on that website.
