Seaport welcomes visitors back
The Mystic Seaport Museum welcomed visitors back to the grounds Memorial Day weekend for the first time since closing in March due to coronavirus.
The museum is open for limited hours Memorial Day weekend and next weekend, with operating hours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 23-25, and noon to 4 p.m., May 26-29.
The museum welcomes visitors to explore the grounds, including the historic village and gardens, the shipyard, and the Mystic River waterfront. The indoor exhibitions, village buildings, and the historic vessels will not be open at this time.
For the safety of staff and guests the museum has inplemented a number of COVID-19 prevention measures, in addtion to the closure of indoor exhibits and historic vessels, and food service, the measures include social distancing, face masks, and restroom use restrictions.
The museum plans to expand access and programming for the public in the coming weeks as permitted by state and local authorities.
