Mystic — Connecticut Department of Transportation employees Skip Yeager, Mike Coulter and Joe Goodrich were collecting the old tide boards Thursday after installing new ones on the Mystic River Bascule Bridge.

The boards, which indicate the distance between the water and the underside of the closed bridge, are replaced every spring.
