    Somers and Formica to hold virtual COVID-19 update, coffee hour this week

    State Sens. Heather Somers, R-Groton, and Paul Formica, R-East Lyme, are holding two virtual events together this week: a "COVID-19 update with the experts" on Thursday and a "virtual coffee hour" on Friday.

    The COVID-19 update is a Facebook town hall that will take place Thursday from 3 to 4 p.m. Those interested in watching can visit facebook.com/senatorsomers to tune in.

    The scheduled panelists include Dr. Kevin Torres, associate chief medical officer at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital; Donna Nucci, infection control director at L+M; Steve Mansfield, director of health at Ledge Light Health District; Katie O'Leary, vice president of post-acute care services at Yale New Haven Hospital, and Dr. Richard Martinello, medical director of the infection prevention department at Yale New Haven Health.
