    Stonington hires new town engineer

Stonington -- The town has hired a new town engineer to fill a position that has been vacant since December.

Chris Greenlaw replaced Scott Deledda who resigned to take a job at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton as a construction engineering manger.

Greenlaw, who started work last week, was previously the deputy director of public works and the facility manager for the Town of Bloomfield. Prior to that, he worked as the town engineer for the Town of Newington and before that the staff engineer for the Town of East Hartford.

First Selectwoman Danielle Chesebrough said Greenlaw’s “broad and diverse experience working for multiple towns in all areas of public works including leading and managing construction projects, working with Town officials, combined with his strong engineering and technical skills will make him a great asset for the Town.”

The town has recently filled three vacancies in Town Hall -- director of economic and community development, director of administrative services and town engineer.

“Many people have been sharing the additional workload due to these vacancies, and it has been extremely appreciated. We are all looking forward to starting this new chapter together,” Chesebrough said.
