Volunteers give back(packs) to community during New London event

New London — Volunteers were helping children pick out backpacks Tuesday, during a giveaway at Toby May Park in New London.
The event, organized by Heather O'Connor and Katelin Teel of Lady Boss Productions, gave out over 350 age-appropriate backpacks full of school supplies to attendees. Donations of both bags and supplies came in from numerous New London businesses and organizations.
"The last things many parents can do is spend money on school supplies right now," O'Connor said of their decision to have the event. "We like to do community-driven charity events, anything we can do to help out."
