Pink drive-through

Survivors and their supporters participated in a Pink Celebration and Drive Through event for breast cancer survivors at Rocky Neck State Park on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020.

The event, hosted by Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of New London County, was planned after the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the annual walk to raise awareness and funds. Participants were encouraged to decorate their cars as they drove through the park where there was a survivor recognition tent and a tribute garden set up.

"We thought it was important to recognize another year has passed for our survivors," said Community Development Manager with the American Cancer Society Dana Wolf.  "Especially given that this year has been the hardest for many of us."
