Childhood friends get together for some sandy soccer in Groton

Groton — Childhood friends Sydnee Peterson of Groton and Nahla Holland of New London got together Tuesday at Esker Point Beach to play soccer.
The two grew up together in Hamden and were wearing shirts from their high school soccer team, the Hamden Hall Country Day School Hornets. They decided to meet at the beach and enjoy the nice weather.
"This is like the first nice day I've been able to enjoy," Holland said.
