Poetry in a Pandemic: Going to Jupiter

Maybe I could go to Jupiter

Here, we can’t get any stupider.

Neptune’s nice this time of year

They like each other there, I hear.

Is it time to visit Saturn?

I’m weary of our planet’s pattern.

    Study hard and learn Venusian

I’m not sure that’s the solution.

    Our solar system’s fairly small

But I’m not going to name them all

I guess I’ll stay on planet three

    Despite the lack of harmony.

    Lon Lipman lives in Norwich.
