Poetry in a Pandemic: The Aftermath
The darkness hit us
With doom and gloom
The scare and fright
Was much to be desired
As we rode the storm
We took stock in how
To cope and adjust
Life brings us the unexpected
Inner strength is tested
The whys, hows and questions
We’re ongoing
As we move forward
We have gained much strength,
courage and hope
We have embraced the storm
and now we slowly recover
With new hope, optimism
and inspiration
With determination and
perseverance
We humans experience a brightness
A positive flow of energy
Has emerged
A new day and a sense of ease
Has arrived
Finally .. we can be better able
To see ourselves
Taking positive steps .. onward we go.
