Late 1800s — Falls Mill was powered by the Yantic River, utilizing the force of the water coming down from the waterfall known as Indian Leap, located to the left of the smokestack. To the right of the smokestack are the mill-workers houses, which still stand today. The flat section, on the upper right of the photograph, is Sachem Street. Today the mills are the Falls Mill Condominiums.
