Groton Public Library hosts Bumpers & Books
Groton Public Library hosted its sixth annual Bumpers & Books on Saturday, Oct. 16. The event is a traditional trunk or treat with a literary twist — all of the car trunks are decorated in book- and author-related themes.
In addition to the cars, we will have activities for the children such as crafts and tattoos, and vendors and a book sale for adults. This program has been honored as the Best Focused Project by a Library Friends Group in the state.
Many of the children in attendance dressed in costume. It’s a great way to get people to come out to the Library and get excited about books.
More than 400 people came to trick or treat from cars decorated in book and author themes and shopped at the “Name Your own price” book sale.
