DOT to replace bridge joints on northbound span of Gold Star Bridge

The state Department of Transportation has announced continuing work on the northbound span of the Gold Star Memorial Bridge.

A bridge joint replacement project is scheduled to start Thursday evenning through Tuesday morning, Nov. 23. No work will be performed on Nov. 11, due to the Veterans Day holiday. In addition, work on a milling and resurfacing project is scheduled to end Thursday.

For both projects, drivers can expect lane closures, state troopers and signs to guide them through the area.  The night work schedule for the project is from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Monday evenings–Saturday mornings).

“Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions,” the DOT said in the releases. “Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.”
