Ledyard carolers bring music to Groton Senior Center
Groton — Ledyard High School Carolers performed Wednesday during the Groton Senior Center Holiday Luncheon.
Director of Choral Activities Melanie Cometa said the group performs on average 30 times during the holiday season and this is its 49th year. For Cometa, who was in the group when she was in high school, being able to get out and give back to the community is one of her favorite parts of the group.
"This is everyones favorite part of the luncheon, even better than bingo," said Tomi Stanley, program supervisor at the senior center.
One of the group's last performances of the season will be at the Ledyard Holiday Music Spectacular at the high school on Dec. 17 and 18 at the high school. The show also will feature other choral and instrument ensembles. Tickets are available for sale and the performances will be livestreamed; visit www.ledyardmusic.com for more information.
