COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to decline in Connecticut

The number of people hospitalized across the state with COVID-19 continued to decrease over the weekend.

According to statistics released by Gov. Ned Lamont's office, hospitalizations on Monday totaled 1,477, or 218 fewer than last Thursday.

Hospitalizations had climbed to almost 2,000 this month before beginning a slow but steady decline. One hundred people still remain hospitalized in New London County. That number is down 12 from last Wednesday.

Lamont's office also said there have been 12,057 more cases since Thursday, boosting the total since the beginning of the pandemic to 683,731. The positivity rate is down to 11.3%.

Deaths, which total 9,683, will next be updated on Thursday.
