    Friends & Neighbors: Jewett City Savings corporators named

    Jewett City Savings Bank has announced the election of seven new corporators: Atty. Christopher Anderson, Nancy Cowser, Sheila Frost, Nicholas Fusaro, Emily Norman, Jeffery Peloquin and Dr. Hope Marandola. The announcement follows the bank’s 149th annual Meeting of Corporators on March 29.

    Christopher Anderson has been the owner and lead trial attorney of Anderson Law Firm, P.C. in Norwich since 2006. He has served as a member of numerous organizations, including the American Association for Justice, Connecticut Bar Association, Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and the Connecticut Bar Foundation.

    Nancy Cowser is Chief of Advancement and Alumni Affairs at Mitchell College. Having acted as Executive Director of the Southeastern Connecticut Enterprise Region (seCTer) for many years, she also serves on the board of the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut, TechCONN, and Thames River Heritage Park. Nancy is the former Chairman of the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut.

    For 23 years Sheila Frost has been one of the owners and operators of The Courthouse Bar & Grille in Putnam. She was recently elected as President of the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.

    Nicholas Fusaro is the President of Louis Panciera Insurance, Inc., a business and commercial insurance agency in Westerly, Rhode Island.

    Emily Norman is Chief Data, Analytics, and Product Officer for NYC Health + Hospitals with a background in data analytics across multiple industries.

    Jeffery Peloquin has been the Senior Tax Director for Peloquin and Company, LLC in Danielson since 2017.

    Dr. Hope Marandola has owned and operated Plainfield Vision Care Center, Inc., since 1999. Over the years, she has served on multiple boards and committees, including the Central Square Condo Board, Plainfield Catholic School Board, Plainfield Lions Club, and Plainfield High School Governance Committee. Dr. Marandola is a member of the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce.

    During the meeting, the bank also recognized the retirement of Kevin Merchant, past president and CEO of Jewett City Saving Bank, who will continue on as a corporator.
