At Gallup Hill School in Ledyard, the week of May 2-6, a “Survivor”-style game had teachers competing for prizes during Teacher Appreciation Week. Teachers spun a virtual wheel and were presented with various challenges to complete.

The Ultimate Survivor Challenge Winner was Sarah Falman-Florez, a second-grade teacher, with 30 challenge points, many of which were earned in an interpretive dance video she made to the song “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus. She won a personalized parking spot and a complete car detail donated by Desmond Auto Detailing in Ledyard.

Other prize winners included Kathy Colosi, Amy Arstrong, Claudia Henkle, Tayla Lackie, Kristina Esposito, Tia Dudda, Leslie Driscoll, Jen Dees and Sandy Lucy.

Sponsors of the event included Valentino’s Restaurant in Ledyard Center, Foxwoods, Holdridge Garden Center and Holmberg Orchard.
