Legendary keyboardist Bruce Katz takes the stage of the Donald L. Oat Theater with his band on Wednesday, June 8, at 7:30 p.m. as the Norwich Arts Center’s Blues on Broadway series continues to bring national and international artists to eastern Connecticut.

Katz’s collaboration with Grammy-winning blues guitarist Joe Louis Walker and British blues harpist Giles Robson on the Alligator Records CD “Journeys to the Heart of the Blues” won the Blues Foundation 2019 Blues Music Award for Best Acoustic Album. A seven-time nominee for the Blues Foundation’s Music Award for “Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Year,” Katz’s latest CD “Solo Ride,” with 11 of 12 tracks written by him, garnered a Blues Foundation Music Award nomination for Acoustic Album of the Year in 2020.

A member of the Greg Allman Band from 2007-2013, Katz brings a variety of other influences and angles to his music, creating a sound where blues, “soul-jazz,” jam-band rock, and all aspects of Americana Music collide in a style all his own.

Doors open at 7 p.m. For details and tickets go to Norwicharts.org.
