Friends & Neighbors: Ornet Hines named to United Way board
At its July meeting, the board of the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut voted to elect Ornet Hines of Liberty Bank as a member.
Hines, assistant vice president and a branch manager at Liberty, has more than 16 years of experience in the banking industry. In her role, she provides customized coaching as needed to develop and the skills of employees.
She manages collaborative partnerships in Mortgages, Small Businesses, and Investments, as well as providing oversight of the day-to-day operations of Liberty Bank’s Norwich branch and managing the yearly budget.
Hines is actively engaged with the community, serving on numerous boards including the Martin House, Thames River Community Service, Eastern CT Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and S.T.E.P.S. She has also volunteered with the New London Homeless Hospitality Center and the Chamber’s Young Professionals group.
With United Way of Southeastern Connecticut, Hines has been a Volunteer Reader during United Way Reading Days both virtually and in-person and been an Allocations Volunteer on the Financial Review Panel.
