    Groton to hold voter registration session

    The Groton Registrars of Voters will hold a registration session from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 at the Voter Registration Office, located at the Groton Community Center, 61 Fort Hill Road, to register new voters who will be entitled to vote in the Nov. 8 election.

    Tuesday is the deadline to register to vote prior to the Nov. 8 election. The registrars also will be available during the Tuesday session to accept voter registration cards being dropped off in person. The deadline for online voter registration is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday. .

    New voter registration cards being sent by mail must be postmarked by Tuesday, Nov. 1 and received by Nov. 7.

    A limited voter registration session will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7 for those seeking to vote in the general election whose qualifications as to age, citizenship, or residence was attained after Nov. 1.

    People with questions concerning voter registration and voting can call the Groton Voter Registration Office at (860) 441-6650. Normal office hours are 8:30 p.m.-4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 5 p.m.–7 p.m.Tuesday evenings.

    People can also call the registrars’ office with questions about polling locations. Redistricting switched some people in Districts 1, 2, 3 and 4. In addition, the polling location for District 2 moved from the Zbierski House to the Thames River Magnet School. The polling location for District 6 moved from S.B. Butler to Mystic River Magnet School.
