Mystic ― A frost greeted the volunteers arriving Tuesday morning to help with one of the final harvests of the season at the Giving Garden at Coogan Farm Nature and Heritage Center.
Tuesday’s harvest included kale, Swiss chard, carrots, beets, and the garden’s crop of heirloom Eastham turnips.
The Eastham turnips are a new crop for the Giving Garden, most weighing in at over 20-pounds.
The harvest is headed to the United Way’s Gemma Moran food center.
