New London Landmarks to hold annual meeting March 28

New London ― New London Landmarks will host its annual meeting March 28 at 137 Bank St., the former Jason’s Furniture Store site turned into luxury apartments.

The event will be from 6 to 7 p.m and is open to the public. Masks are required.

The development at 137 Bank St. and 123 Bank St. is to be known as Riverbank, advertised as 16 luxury one- and two-bedroom apartments. The owners, High Tide Capital, are the same developers for the Manwaring building at 225 State St.

Laura Natusch, Landmarks’ executive director, said attendees will be able to tour the development after the meeting.

Brian Lyman, the construction manager for the project, will be the meeting’s featured speaker. Intern Leslie Ann Melendez will present a video montage of oral history interview clips about the now-demolished Thames River Apartments.

New London Landmarks will present its Volunteer of the Year award to Constance Kristofik for her documentary “Holding Space for Each Other: New London’s LGBTQ+ Community,” its Clifford Stone award to historian Tom Schuch for his years of research and lectures, and its Restoration Award to High Tide Capital for the rehabilitation of the Manwaring Building.
