New London ― Mike Gomez washed off boats at the Fort Trumbull Marina Wednesday in preparation for the upcoming boating season.

Gomez, a city resident, said he works a at several odd jobs and helps out the marina owners with work every spring.

Gomez said the marina would start putting boats into the water for the season this weekend.

“Everyone’s going to be out on the water before we know it,” he said.
