The Day is working on a story about the effects of the Windfall Elimination Provision on recent retirees. The WEP is a formula that can reduce the amount of your Social Security retirement or disability. It applies only to workers who did not pay Social Security taxes and impacts about 3% of Social Security beneficiaries.
