Stonington — Jamison Magowan had three goals and assist as the Stonington boys’ soccer team downed East Lyme on Wednesday, 4-0, to clinch at least a share of the Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I title.

Tyler Fidrych had two assists, Sam Montalto scored and Max Wojtas added an assist for the Bears (9-1, 4-0). Peter Fernholz added four saves.

Suneal Lall had five saves for the Vikings (9-3, 1-3).

In other games:

• Nikolas Zingus scored three goals and Harrison Searle had a goal and two assists as Waterford beat Wheeler 4-1 in the Mendonca Bowl. Joe Mendonca Jr. coaches Waterford and his father, Joe Mendonca Sr., is the Wheeler coach. Alexander Ard had an assist for Waterford (4-8). Scott Pion scored on a penalty kick and Bowen Baker made 10 saves for Wheeler (8-4).

• Derek Strickland broke a scoreless tie in the 58th minute and Jack Varley added a goal three minutes later in Montville's 2-0 victory over Coginchaug. Jacob Rose and Liam Cook added assists and Keaton Sulman made four saves for Montville (9-3), which outshot Coginchaug 20-8. Coginchaug is 4-6-1. 

• Norwich Free Academy beat Fitch 2-0 in an ECC Division I game. Enrico Edouardo and Christo Moran-Vargas scored goals and Troy Maurer had an assist for NFA (3-8, 1-3). Fitch is 6-6-1, 2-2. 

• Tenzin Jamphel, Shane Sutton and John Tishico all scored for St. Bernard in its 3-1 win over Putnam in an ECC Division IV game. Mike Whipple and Martin Arvidson combined for three saves for the Saints (8-4, 5-2). Hunter Touchette scored for Putnam (1-10-1, 1-5) and Kobie Bates had 10 saves.

• Old Lyme and East Hampton played to a 0-0 tie in a Shoreline Conference game. Ryan Tetreault made four saves for Old Lyme (3-9-1). 

H.S. girls' soccer

• Norwich Tech/Holy Family beat Grasso Tech 4-0 in an Connecticut Technical Conference game. Alexandra Aguiar, Carla Kryzwicki, Kiara Jerald and Julia Phillips scored goals and Marissa Madeira made eight saves for Norwich Tech. Dinorah Cruz (12) and Mara Sked combined for 15 saves for Grasso. 

College golf

• Mitchell College won its three-team Mitchell Invite III, shooting a 323 to beat Dean (336) and Albertus Magnus (408). Nick Knisel of Mitchell was the medalist with a 76 at Shennecossett Golf Course. Mitchell's Michael McCarthy was third with a 78 and teammates Sam Gaboury of Montville (84) and Michael Izzo (85) also contributed to the victory.  

Men's soccer

• Old Lyme's Will Ferguson had a goal and an assist as Mitchell College beat Suffolk 2-1 in a nonleague game. Ferguson gave Mitchell a 1-0 halftime lead and assisted on a second-half goal by Waterford's Eduardo Tineo which made it 2-0. Former NFA standout Seth Strader made five saves for Mitchell (4-7).

Women's soccer

• Mitchell College lost to Southern Vermont in a New England Collegiate Conference game, 6-0. Drew Johndrow made seven saves for Mitchell (1-10, 0-5).

H.S. girls' swimming

• Olivia Strelevitz won an event and was on a winning relay team for Ledyard, which beat Lyman Memorial/Parish Hill/Windham 93-66 in an ECC meet on Tuesday. Strelevitz won the 100-yard freestyle and teamed with Madeline Johanson, Jenabelle Felmy and Erin Lyons to win the 200 medley relay. Alexandra Martinez-Garcia, Gabrille Schaufler, Mikayla Fors, Emily Goodrich and Katey Truncale also won events for Ledyard (4-2, 4-2).

H.S. girls' cross country

• Mary Madaus (21:44) and Grace Cassineri (24:34) finished first and fourth, respectively, to help Williams win the Watkinson Invitational. Katie Burzin was ninth (27:40), Anna Terry 11th (28:38), Vasishnavi Ladd 12th (29:15) and Samantha Karlson 13th (29:18).

H.S. boys' cross country

• Hartmut Doerwaldt placed second (18:37) and Philip Knowlton third (18:54) as Williams placed second at the Watkinson Invitational. Hunter Dolphin finished 10th (21:25), Colin Ladd 13th (21:51), and Jasper Wright (24:31) for Williams.

• St. Bernard lost a pair of ECC Division IV meets on Tuesday, falling to Lyman Memorial 19-38 and Griswold 25-33. Sam Davis was the top finisher for the Saints (4-5, 1-3), coming in third with a time of 19:46. Sean Power of St. Bernard was eighth in 21:06.
