Local roundup: Black Wolves re-sign Jamieson

Mohegan — Doug Jamieson, the 2020 National Lacrosse League Goaltender of the Year, signed a new three-year contract with the New England Black Wolves on Monday.

The Black Wolves matched the offer sheet from the Halifax Thunderbirds for Jamieson, who was a restricted free agent.

Jamieson has spent four seasons with New England and his coming off his best season when he led the NLL in save percentage (.829) and had a goals against average of 8.80 as the Black Wolves went 8-3 before the season ended abruptly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He was also an All-NLL first team selection.

The signing came a day after the Black Wolves lost All-NLL first team forward Callum Crawford, who signed a free agent deal with the New York Riptide. Crawford, a finalist for league MVP honors, led the NLL with 76 points on 33 goals and 43 assists.
