    Local college roundup: Coast Guard men's soccer team remains unbeaten

    Worcester, Mass. — John Flood scored in the 12th minute and unbeaten Coast Guard made the goal stand up in its 1-0 win over Clark in a New England Men's and Women's Conference men's soccer game on Saturday.

    Gabriel Gallant had the assist and Josh Hudson made five saves for the Bears (7-0-1, 2-0), who are ranked 14th in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Division III poll.

    The Cougars are 5-3-1, 0-1-1.

    In other games:

    • Felix Wu and German Giammattei both scored for Amherst in its 2-0 win over Conn College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game. Amherst is 5-1-0, 2-1-0. Sam Maidenberg had four saves for the Camels (3-2, 2-1).

    • Marek Gonda scored at 79:44 to give DePaul its 2-1 win over UConn in the Big East Conference. Nathaniel Enriquez scored for DePaul (5-2, 1-0) and Gandhi Cruz had five saves. Guillaume Vacter scored and Mateo Leveque had the assist for the Huskies (4-3, 0-2).

    Women's soccer

    • Natalie Landau scored twice for Amherst as it knocked off unbeaten Conn College, 4-0, in a NESCAC game. Carter Hollingsworth had a goal and an assist for the Jumbos (5-1, 2-1). Sarah Hall had four saves and Ella Kahrl added three saves for the Camels (3-1, 2-1).

    • Maria Colon Figueroa scored the game-winning goal at 89:56 as Babson rallied for a 2-1 win over Coast Guard in a NEWMAC game. Morgan Krauss scored and Morgan Fedosiewich had three saves for Babson (4-3-1, 1-1), which trailed at halftime. Chase Merrick scored and Hope Drake-Duval had seven saves for the Bears (2-6, 0-2).

    Women's volleyball

    • Amanda Dake had 20 kills, 13 digs and six aces for Coast Guard in its 25-27, 25-17, 27-25, 25-18 over Wheaton in a NEWMAC match. Noelle Tursky had 46 assists and 13 digs for the Bears (8-4, 1-1) and Sophia Galdamez had 22 kills and 11 digs. Adara Hamilton had 15 digs, 11 kills and three aces for the Lyons (7-2, 1-1).

    • Lauren Carey had 29 assists and 14 digs as Conn College rallied back from a two-goal deficit to beat Clark 22-25, 20-25, 28-26, 25-22, 15-13. Julia Dailey had 24 digs and five aces for Conn (2-4, 1-4) and Katherine Randall had 10 digs, six aces and five kills.

    Emma Wheeler had 11 kills and Carey had 19 assists and five aces as Conn College lost its second match of the day to Smith 24-26, 25-22, 25-21, 25-14. Dailey added 15 digs.

    Field hockey

    • Beth Williamson had two goals and an assist and Natalie Hobbs scored twice as unbeaten Amherst downed Conn College, 7-2, in a NESCAC game. The Jumbos are 7-0, 4-0. Kylee Quinn and Hannah Webster scored, Bridget Mason had an assist and Jackie Mountford had seven saves for the Camels (1-5, 0-4).
