    Health care strike

Nursing home workers walk off their jobs at Danbury Health Care Center Tuesday in protest of labor concessions made by HealthBridge, the New Jersey-based company that owns the facility. The nurses, nursing assistants, laundry, dietary, housekeeping and other support staff walked out of homes owned by HealthBridge/Care One in Danbury, Milford, Newington, Stamford and Westport. A union spokeswoman said HealthBridge broke off negotiations with the workers and illegally imposed a contract that cuts workers' hours and makes health insurance unaffordable.
