Essex Financial names Cumello as new CEO

Charles R. "Chuck" Cumello, Jr. has been appointed chief executive officer and president of Essex Financial Services, a division of Essex Savings Bank.

Cumello's appointment, announced by the company's board of directors, came after John Rafal, founder and former president of Essex Financial Services, stepped aside from his leadership role to become vice chair of the company. Cumello had been serving as interim CEO until his official appointment and previously was vice president of sales and investments at Essex Financial.

Doug Paul, chairman of Essex Financial Services and Essex Savings Bank, cited Cumello's extensive experience in the industry in announcing the appointment.
