40 Under Forty: Victoria Sorensen Mueller

Victoria Sorensen Mueller was born in Port Jefferson, New York, and lived in both Louisiana and Ohio before the age of 8. She has two brothers, Brandon Sorensen of New London and Christopher Mioducki of Norwich. Her parents, Steven and Patricia Sorensen, currently reside in Warwick, R.I.

Upon relocating to the Connecticut shoreline with her family, Sorensen Mueller attended local schools, graduating with honors from Waterford High School in 2001. She attended the University of Connecticut at Storrs where she double majored in sociology and political science. During her time at UConn, she served as a resident advisor, president of the Pi Sigma Alpha Honors Fraternity, and an intern with the Connecticut State Senate Republicans. Additionally, Sorensen Mueller worked as an event planner for Gourmet Galley Catering while pursuing her undergraduate studies. It was this experience that developed her love of fine food and entertaining.

She continued her work in the events industry through her first year at UConn Law in Hartford, where she began classes in 2009. While in law school, she interned with the State's Attorney's Office, clerked at Conway, Londregan, Sheehan & Monaco, and participated in the school's Criminal Appellate Clinic. Upon graduating in 2012, she accepted an associate position with Messier, Massad & Burdick, where she practices in the areas of commercial litigation, real estate and bankruptcy law.

Sorensen Mueller founded the New London Rotaract Club in 2010, the first such community based club in the State of Connecticut. She serves as secretary on the Board of Trustees of the Children's Museum of Southeastern Connecticut, as well as on the Board of Trustees of Hygienic Art, Inc. She is an active member of the New London Rotary Club.

She married her high school sweetheart, Timothy Mueller, in 2009. They currently live in Uncasville with their kittycat Bella and black lab Levi, and are expecting their first child in late January.
