Open house events planned for Oswegatchie Hills preserve

East Lyme — A fall open house will take place at the Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, starting at the main entrance at Veterans Memorial Park.
The event will include guided tours of the 457-acre preserve and information about efforts by the Save Oswegatchie Hills Coalition (Connecticut Fund for the Environment/Save the Sound, Friends of Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve, and Save the River-Save the Hills) to save nearby lands.
Hikes led by Friends of Owegatchie Hills stewards will start at 10 a.m. from the main entrance kiosk at the park.
