Dahyir Croft of New London received a $500 scholarship from the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association as part of the association’s goal to support students going into “helping professions,” such as social work, geriatric medicine, and more.

Croft recently graduated from the Science and Technology Magnet High School of Southeastern Connecticut, and she will be attending the University of Connecticut in the fall to pursue a nursing degree. She was one of eight students honored by the CFDA this year, one from each county.
