Full Power Radio Inc. has appointed Tim Burrows vice president of operations of the New England-based radio and streaming broadcasting companies. Burrows will help manage operations of the New England based Full Power Radio Stations owned by John Fuller. Burrows began his broadcasting career in the New London market and joined Full Power Radio 15 years ago as sales manager. The Groton Public Library and Liberty Bank are hosting a free shredding event in the library's parking lot on Saturday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to noon. Bring up to three file-sized boxes for complimentary safe and secure shredding. Non-perishable food items will also be accepted and donated to local food pantries. The Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce will bring back its "Sunday Funday" series each Sunday on High Street in downtown Westerly from April 18-May 16 from noon to 8 p.m. The event offers three live bands each day, shopping, dining and beverage specials in the outdoor market, which is closed to vehicles. Randall Realtors recently recognized its agents' 2020 individual sales achievements at its annual awards ceremony, which was held virtually this year. In the second highest sales-production category, the Diamond Award, which recognizes sales production between $9 and $14.999 million, Katy Fetherston of the Mystic office, Elizabeth Douthit of the Watch Hill office, Melinda Carlisle of the Mystic office, Patrice Fenton of the Charlestown office, and Leo Chomen of the East Lyme office, were honored. Fetherston was the "Top Volume Agent," and Chomen received the top honors for rentals production with 33 units in 2020, most listings taken and most units sold by any individual agent. Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has donated $32,000 in additional emergency food assistance to eastern Connecticut's food pantries and food centers to increase food supplies to those in need during the continuing COVID-19 health crisis. Since this past April, Charter Oak has donated a total of $139,000 in emergency grants to food centers and food pantries that serve New London and Windham counties.
