    Cochrans Celebrate Golden Anniversary

Walter H. and Carol Cochran of Madison recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple was married on Jan. 27, 1962 at the Old Stone Church in East Haven. Mr. Cochran retired as an accountant from Northeast Utilities Service Company. Mrs. Cochran is the former Carol Catalde and is a retired special education assistant, having worked in several area towns. She is also a registered nurse, graduating from the former Grace New Haven School of Nursing. They are the parents of Jeanne Allie and son-in-law David of Storrs, Susan Gerald of Groton, and Scott Cochran and daughter-in-law Laurie of Madison. They also have seven grandchildren.

The couple observed their anniversary by renewing their marriage vows at the United Methodist Church of Branford. They were also attended by their original maid of honor, Mrs. Cochran’s sister Janice Leiff, and best man, Mr. Cochran’s brother-in-law Ernest Vongher. All of their children, their daughter-in-law, and son-in-law, and all seven grandchildren participated in their special service, led by Rev. Y.S. Kim. Following the service, Mr. and Mrs. Cochran hosted a dinner for family and friends in the church hall.
