Fred and Julia McPherson recently celebrated 75 years of marriage with family and friends at the Carriage House in Deep River.

Fred, 104 years old, was born in Essex, and Julia, 98 years old, was born in New York City. They met and married in Deep River in 1939 and have lived in the same home for the last 75 years. They have one son, Patrick; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Fred was an avid dog lover and the keeper of the original Rin Tin Tin. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Panama. Julia retired from Whelen Engineering.
