Russell Gullette, the son of Greg and Shelley Gullette of Guilford, is engaged to wed Laura Hutchison, the daughter of Catherine and Lee Hutchison of Memphis, Tennessee. The couple met at the University of California at Davis near Napa while they were both working on masters degrees in art history.

The future groom graduated from Guilford High School in 2002. He attended Colby College, from which he received a degree in English and art. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in art history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The future bride is a graduate of Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, from which she earned a degree in art history. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in classical archaeology at John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

The couple had been together for more than three years when Russell proposed. A January 2015 wedding in Memphis, Tennessee, is planned.
