I would like to share some joy of the celebration of my dear mother Ida Sellitti Dougherty, celebrated her 100th Birthday on April 19, 2021. 100 fabulous years loved.

A resident of New London for over 60 years, she and my father raised ten children. My late father Francis Dougherty Sr. was a retiree at The Day and worked there for many years after serving our country as a World War II Navy and Korean War Army Veteran and Ida worked part time for The Day under Colleen.

Ida enjoyed her job at The Day and was always happy to be there. They were both proud to be a part of The Day paper and even after retiring were honored to receive the paper every day for free. They even proudly displayed a license plate from 1981 100th anniversary of The Day.

Ida has always been such a loving, kind, and dedicated mother and person. Has always shown love and kindness to all and is an amazing woman and gift to the world.

Happy 100th Birthday Ida, Mom, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Mother-in-Law, Friend, Sister. We love you always and forever.

To this day, she always says, “Love One Another”, “Be at Peace” and “What the world needs now is Love” ♥️
