Groton — Eighty-two sailors of “Class 13260,” USS Spinax (SS/SSR-489), graduated from Basic Enlisted Submarine School, Friday, May 31.

Seaman David Zuckerman was the class honorman. Seaman Recruit Christopher Manning was meritoriously advanced. Seaman Recruit Matthew Tanner, the class leader, received the Submarine Heritage Award and Fireman Christopher McMurray received the Navy Core Values Award.

Seaman Recruit Kyle Joyner, Fireman Jon Zumback, Seaman Esteban Ramirez, Fireman Recruit Marcus Emerson, Seaman Recruit Preston Nebergall, Seaman Evan Thomas, Seaman Jacob Grabowski, Seaman Recruit Evan Gowdy, Machinist’s Mate Third Class Grant Howard, Seaman Recruit Tyler Lagrange, Seaman Joshua Smith and Seaman Recruit Andrew Large were named graduates with distinction.
