    Auxiliary Package School Graduation

    Groton — Fourteen Sailors of Class 16130 graduated from Auxiliary Package School on Aug. 5.

    Fireman Joshua Thomas was class honorman.

    Auxiliary package school is a six-week training pipeline for submarine auxiliarymen with instruction in pumps, hydraulics, refrigeration, diesel engines and watertight hatches.

    After completing Basic Enlisted Submarine School, sailors undergo three weeks of initial instruction in basic mechanical skills, emphasizing basic mechanical concepts, tools and uses prior to entering auxiliary package school.
