"Sand Dollar Cove," the film shot this spring in southeastern Connecticut, will have its premiere at 9 p.m. Saturday on the Hallmark Channel.

It stars Chad Michael Murray, who was a regular on "One Tree Hill," and Aly Michalka, who was in "Hellcats" and "iZombie" and is part of the music group Aly & AJ with her sister.

The movie is produced by Synthetic Cinema International, which is located in Rocky Hill and has shot numerous productions in southeastern Connecticut for Hallmark and Lifetime.

Scenes for the production were shot in such landmark local sites as Carson's Store in Noank, which is named Sand Dollar Café in the film. A carnival scene was shot at the Noank town dock.

The Hallmark website describes the storyline like this: Stamford developer Elli works on acquiring a beachfront property in Sand Dollar Cove, a quaint Connecticut beach town, but falls for the town's charm and property owner in the process.
